About Philip Cloete

Subsequent to matriculating from St. Andrew’s College, Philip Cloete attended Rhodes University where he read for a LLB degree which was completed in 2004. On graduating, he worked in London, England as a Clerk for Winter-Scott Solicitors, solicitors specializing in Admiralty Law, and thereafter for the international commercial law firm, Clifford-Chance.
 
Returning to his Eastern Cape roots in 2006, he commenced his articles of clerkship, serving as a Candidate Attorney under his Principal Jerome Shaw of Shaw Attorneys in Queenstown. 2008 saw his return to Grahamstown where he completed his term as a Candidate Attorney with Netteltons Attorneys and was later that year admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa. He thereafter worked as a Professional Assistant in the employ of Netteltons Attorneys until he was appointed a Partner of that firm in early 2012.
 
The partnership in question was terminated by him in early 2014 when he founded the firm Cloete & Company Attorneys. He currently specializes all aspects of Civil Litigation and various other aspects of general practice.
